Royal Palace of La Almudaina Situated opposite the Catedral de Mallorca, the Royal Palace of La Almudaina is another fine example of Palma de Mallorca’s rich heritage. Once a Muslim fortress, the building was transformed into a royal palace in the 13 th century. Today, it’s still used as an official residence of the King and Queen of Spain, Felipe VI and his wife Letizia – however the public are invited to step inside.
