Hertz car rental in Valencia

Car rental at Valencia Airport is a gateway to eastern Spain’s dynamic culture, golden sandy beaches and historic architecture.

Explore this vibrant Spanish haven at your leisure with a rental car from Hertz. Not only do you have the freedom to see all of the sights at your own pace, you can also get to the city easily, as it is only around 10km to the city centre.

This means you can get to your accommodation right away rather than waiting around for public transport or transfers, or head off to explore the nearby attractions.

Valencia itself has everything you’d want from a vibrant city destination. It also boasts excellent links to other significant places too, with the capital Madrid around three hours away, the popular resort of Alicante only two hours’ drive by car, and scenic coastal routes nearby.

Simply reserve your vehicle online in advance, and collect it at a pre-agreed time that suits you.

Driving in and around Valencia

Valencia Airport is located on the outskirts of the city itself, taking approximately 15 to 20 minutes via A-3 and Avenida del Cid to get to the centre. With excellent connections to other seaside resorts and towns, you’re also free to explore further afield when you rent a car.

Speed limits will usually be clearly signed, and range from 120km/h on major highways to 50km/h on many urban roads. Just watch out for any changes.

Paid metre parking is available when leaving your car locally, and there are plenty of clearly designated spots. There’s also a plethora of parking garages dotted close to the heart of the city – ideal for visiting the historic attractions, museums and relaxing beaches nearby.

The roads in Spain are well maintained, particularly in bigger cities. Please be aware that talking on a mobile phone while driving is strictly prohibited here.

If you’re looking to head further afield and soak up as much as Spain as possible, consider a road trip to Madrid. The bustling capital city is under three and a half hours away via the A-3 from the airport.

You’ll cruise past traditional Spanish towns and tree-lined roads before being rewarded with the delights of the capital. There are also a plethora of popular towns and resorts within easy reach of Valencia that are well worth a visit, including Alicante.

A quick guide to Valencia and beyond

Whether you prefer unwinding on powder-soft beaches or exploring a vibrant cultural city, renting a car from Valencia Airport puts you firmly in the driving seat.

From its location on Spain’s sunny eastern coast, here you’ll have access to an abundance of incredible beauty spots, architectural wonders and delicious traditional Spanish tapas.  Explore and enjoy the many experiences with complete freedom.

Malvarrosa Beach

If you’re looking for a place to relax, you won’t have to look far in Valencia. Offering golden sand and an array of facilities, you could spend hours chilling out at Malvarrosa Beach.

Dip your toes in the warm water before soaking up the sun – the beach is vast, so you’ll never have to look for a spot to lay your towel for long. There’s always something going on at this dynamic ‘playa’, whether it’s water sports or a game of volleyball.

La Lonja de la Seda

Dating back to the 15th-century, La Lonja de la Seda is a remarkable place to visit, and shows off some of the most striking Gothic architecture in the city.

Once used for trading silk, this historic complex still sits at the heart of things and makes for a majestic sight. With unique twisting columns in the vast main hall and ornate ceilings to marvel up at, every part of La Lonja de la Seda is a masterpiece. So much so, in fact, that it is now a UNESCO heritage site – and world-renowned for its extraordinary design.

Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias

A hub for all things arts and science related, the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias – or ‘city of arts and sciences’ – is a vast complex of more contemporary cultural wonders.

There are several distinct attractions here, all designed in a futuristic style that is guaranteed to take your breath away. One of the most fascinating is the Príncipe Felipe Science Museum, which is an incredibly interactive space that allows you to learn by experience rather than just looking.

If you’d prefer to interact with nature, then Umbracle is going to be more to your taste. This open-access garden sprawls over 17,000 square metres and is packed full of beautiful Mediterranean plants, as well as gorgeous pieces of modern art.

Next stop is the Oceanogràfic, which is renowned for being one of the largest aquariums in Europe. Inside you’ll find as many as 45,000 sea creatures across 500 different species, including dolphins, sea lions and sharks.

Road trip to Alicante

For those who want to explore beyond Valencia, a rental car is essential. Alicante, an energetic and attractive seaside resort, is around two hours' drive away via the A-7 or AP-7. Whether you spend the day there or a weekend, you’ll never run out of fun in this popular vacation destination.

From chilling out on the many beaches to sampling the dynamic atmosphere, there’s always something to do both day and night. Enjoy the pretty houses and pink churches of the old quarter, or the seemingly endless turquoise sea and beautiful golden sand of Playa del Postiguet.

Car rental at Valencia Airport opens up an array of possibilities. Reserve direct today.
